Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and CVmake ("CVmake", "we", "us", "our"), governing your access to and use of the CVmake platform available at cvmake.app and app.cvmake.app (collectively, the "Service").

By registering an account, accessing the Service, or clicking "I agree", you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

CVmake is an AI-powered career toolkit that provides the following features:

• CV Builder — Create and edit professional CVs with 7 customizable templates and real-time preview.
• AI CV Generator — Generate CV content using artificial intelligence based on your job title, experience, and skills.
• ATS Score Checker — Analyze your CV's compatibility with a specific job description and receive a scored report.
• CV Tailoring — Automatically rewrite your CV to match a target job posting using AI.
• Motivation Letter Generator — Generate personalized cover letters based on your CV and a job description.
• Interview Prep AI — Generate tailored interview questions and expert tips for a specific role.
• Job Search — Search job listings powered by third-party data providers.
• Application Tracker — Track job applications, statuses, and notes in one place.
• PDF Export — Download your CV and motivation letter as a professionally formatted PDF.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

To use CVmake, you must:

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
• Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements. If you are under 18, you confirm you have obtained parental or guardian consent.

CVmake uses Google OAuth for authentication. By signing in, you authorize CVmake to receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials confidential.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately at support@cvmake.app if you suspect unauthorized use.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that are inactive for more than 12 consecutive months, after providing reasonable notice.

CVmake offers the following plans:

Credits are consumed when you export a PDF or use certain AI features. Unused credits from the Credits Pack never expire. Monthly subscription credits reset each billing cycle and do not carry over.

Subscriptions automatically renew on a monthly basis. You may cancel at any time via your account Settings, effective at the end of the current billing period. You will not be charged after cancellation takes effect.

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We accept credit/debit cards, iDEAL, and Klarna. All prices are in EUR and include applicable taxes where required.

We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Existing subscribers will receive at least 30 days' notice before any price changes take effect.

Credit packs are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by applicable consumer protection law (including EU consumer rights directives). If you have a billing dispute, contact us at support@cvmake.app within 14 days of the charge.

Monthly subscriptions: If you cancel within 14 days of your initial subscription purchase and have not used any AI features or exports during that period, you may request a full refund. After 14 days or after using the Service, refunds are at our sole discretion.

EU/EEA consumers have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services, which is waived upon first use of the Service. By using the Service immediately after purchase, you expressly consent to waiving this right.

"User Content" means any information, text, or data you submit to the Service, including your CV content, personal details, job descriptions, and notes.

You retain full ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant CVmake a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

• Store and process your content solely to provide the Service.
• Transmit your content to third-party AI services (OpenAI) strictly to fulfill your requests.

We do not sell, rent, or share your User Content with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your CV data to train AI models.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of your User Content. You warrant that your content does not infringe any third-party rights.

CVmake uses OpenAI's language models to generate CV text, cover letters, ATS analysis, interview questions, and other content. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, or omissions.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI-generated content before use.
• CVmake makes no guarantee that AI output will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific purpose.
• AI content should not be used as professional legal, medical, or financial advice.
• CVmake is not liable for any consequences arising from the use of AI-generated content, including any employment outcomes.

Your use of AI features is subject to OpenAI's Usage Policies.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Create fraudulent, misleading, or impersonating CVs or documents.
• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
• Transmit any content that is defamatory, offensive, or infringes third-party rights.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
• Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from the Service without written permission.
• Use automated bots, scripts, or tools to access the Service.
• Circumvent any rate limits, credit systems, or access controls.
• Share account credentials or resell access to the Service.
• Introduce malware, viruses, or any malicious code.

Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities.

CVmake integrates with the following third-party services. By using CVmake, you also agree to their respective terms:

• Google Firebase — Authentication and data storage. Terms

• OpenAI — AI content generation. Terms
• Adzuna — Job listings data. Terms
• Resend — Transactional email delivery. Terms

CVmake is not responsible for the practices, content, or availability of any third-party services. Links to third-party sites do not constitute endorsement.

The Service, including its design, code, branding, logos, text, and features (excluding User Content), is the exclusive intellectual property of CVmake and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, display, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws.

CVmake acts as a data controller for personal data you provide. OpenAI and other sub-processors act as data processors under appropriate data processing agreements.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CVmake disclaims all warranties, including:

• Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
• That the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• That any errors will be corrected.
• That your CV or generated content will result in job interviews or employment.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CVmake and its directors, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages.
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities.
• Damages arising from your reliance on AI-generated content.
• Damages caused by unauthorized access to your account.
• Employment outcomes or lack thereof.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or €10, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability. In such cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CVmake and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use or misuse of the Service.
• Your User Content.
• Your violation of these Terms.
• Your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.

By you: You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting support@cvmake.app. Cancelling your subscription does not automatically delete your account.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if:

• You breach any provision of these Terms.
• We are required to do so by law.
• We reasonably suspect fraudulent or abusive activity.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Unused paid credits are non-refundable upon termination due to breach. Sections 7, 11, 13, 14, 15, and 17 survive termination.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

EU consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence. The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution platform for consumer disputes.

Before initiating legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at support@cvmake.app to resolve any dispute amicably.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• Notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service before the effective date.
